Membership benefits

Loans

HelMu offers its members a hassle-free and low-interest loan. The interest rate is 4%. Loan application forms are available from the secretary: tuomas.pulakka@helsinginmuusikot.fi.

At its meetings, the Board decides the loans on the basis of the applications, and If necessary very quickly. Credit ratings etc will not be reviewed.

Interest is paid as soon as the loan is drawn i.e. the interest is deducted from the total amount received. The loan period is exactly 1 year, and the remaining amount of the loan is then to be repaid in full. There are no other fees.

Required are two guarantors of the loan, who must also be members of HelMu. The maximum amount of the loan is € 4,000.

Financial assistance for recreational activities

Based on well-justified applications, HelMu distributes financial assistance for recreational activities of its members, at the discretion of the Board. Recreational activities must be closely related to the maintenance and development of the general health, well-being and working ability of its member musicians. The idea is to also support activities that unite musicians of our different orchestras.

In recent years, grants have been awarded to, for example, football and ice hockey teams as well as to golf tournaments between orchestras. There was also a grant awarded to a swimming team of musicians that participated in a freestyle swimming competition! It really is worth organizing a variety of worthy activities for musicians and to then apply for a grant to aid in expenses!

Scholarships

HelMu also awards ”JOKUNEN"  scholarships. These can be applied for, with a free-form application. The scholarship is intended to provide financial aid for the rehabilitation of work-related problems as well as with problems with ones' physique. Also physical maintenance, professional development, professional rehabilitation or other similar matters.

Grants are awarded annually with a total sum of about € 2,500 and individual grants are usually up to a maximum of € 500.

Jokunen scholarships are available in the spring. The exact application times can be found in the "Muusikko" magazine and also on this website.
